Farmers

Otter Creek Farm spans 465 acres near the Tomhannock Reservoir in Rensselaer County, NY, with a rich legacy dating back to 1882 under the Wiley family's ownership. Originally a conventional dairy since 1937, the farm transitioned in 2018 to focus on sustainable, pasture-raised livestock, including meat chickens, laying hens, pigs, grass-fed cattle, and turkeys. Partnering with first-generation farmer Russ Wallack and Breadtree Farms, the land also supports a 20-acre chestnut orchard.

Elizabeth is a new addition to the farm—just like many of its animals. Originally from Cincinnati, OH, and arriving in New York from Lexington, KY, she has long been passionate about animals, food, and farming. After years of searching for clean, locally grown food and working with struggling farmers, she chose to grow her own—building a simple, grateful life rooted in abundance. Now, she’s excited to share a piece of that life with you.

Brad grew up on Otter Creek Farm, raised by generations of farmers who shaped his deep appreciation for the land. As a fifth-generation farmer, he is dedicated to creating a diversified farm that sustains both his family and the local community. With a love for history and an encyclopedic knowledge of family genealogy and local lore, he’s always happy to share stories about the farm—along with a few opinions if you catch him on a break!

Blending tradition with innovation, Otter Creek Farm remains committed to responsible stewardship, regenerative agriculture, and a thriving future.
